Ms word font updating

Open a Microsoft Word document and then efault button located at the bottom-left corner of the window. Now you’ve got a groovy new font set as your default in Microsoft Word 2010.But since I don't want to include the cover photo and frontispiece photo (which I had to 'fool' into numbering that way) in the renumbering, I selected everything after those, starting with my figure 1 to the end. I then tried both F9 and update fields, and nothing happened. For Microsoft Powerpoint, it is a little more complicated as there is no default setting to apply to all documents but you can create a Master Slide.

After all, the font list in Word can be very, very long.I am attempting to do the same - to renumber figures/photos after moving them around, without deleting and then putting them back in.I see the instructions to select all, then F9 or right click on 'update fields'.I have a user with a Word document using Goudy Old Style 10 font, all CAPS in the Table of Contents. When she "Updates the Table of Contents" using "page and numbers only" all is OK, but when using "entire table", it changes the font to New Times Roman (along with proper uppercase and lower case format).
